Dr Elizabeth Watt

Elizabeth is an applied social researcher, who leads our advocacy, evaluation and evidence work. In her previous role as Senior Research Officer at the NSW Department of Communities and Justice, she gained expertise in helping policy makers and practitioners use evidence to achieve positive outcomes for vulnerable children, young people and families.

Before this, Elizabeth researched the impact of political and technological changes on Indigenous Australian society at Deakin University. Her PhD, completed at the Australian National University in 2016, drew on extensive fieldwork in a remote Cape York community to explore the local reception of welfare reforms.
