JobActive, Transition to Work and youth homelessness Webinar

Date: Thurs, 10th December

Location: ZOOM

On Thursday 10th December Yfoundations will host an interactive webinar on the interconnectedness between JobActive, Transition to Work, and youth homelessness.

Presenting will be Melinda Hatton NSW/ACT State Manager and Skevi Panayi Director of Delivery and Employer Engagement at the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment, as well as Kellie Checkley, Head of Sticking Together Project at SYC.

Melinda Hatton and Skevi Panayi will present on the role of the Department of Education, Skills and Employments and the range of programs on offer (including JobActive and Transition to Work program), which will be the touchpoint for many young people experiencing, or at-risk of, youth homelessness.

Kellie Checkley will outline SYC’s Sticking Together Project, a bespoke youth employment coaching program which supports disadvantaged young people to develop their wellbeing and skills to gain employment and ‘stick’ at it. Kellie will also speak to the perceived ‘divide’ between youth services and the employment services sector and the role of meaningful partnerships to ensure young people have every opportunity to achieve their goals.

Following the presentations will be an interactive opportunity to ask any questions with regard to JobActive and Transition to Work, and their prominence within the youth homelessness space.
