YHMD1-Girl-on-computer-TRANSPARENT Writing & Photo Competition for Young People - In preparation for Youth Homelessness Matters Day which will take place on Wednesday 15 April, we are very happy to organise a Writing and Photo Competition for young people. Screen Shot 2014-12-10 at 8.41.52 am Government (and charities) must acknowledge that housing is a right, not a privilege - Housing is unassailably a right. Personally I think it is a common sense moral position that everyone has the right to a place they can call home. But this is not just my view, housing is explicitly made a right by article 11 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights; a treaty which 162 of the world’s countries are party to - including Australia.
